The Lady or the Tiger

All eyes were set on the lady as she came out of the door. Utterances of approval and dissatisfaction can be heard even from a far. The King stood on his feet as he announced what fate the man had made and a reward for his innocence be sent immediately. As expected, a priest followed by a band of choristers and dancing maidens came. People shouted their hurrahs to the top of their lungs. However the man stood, in the middle of rejoicing crowd, in silence and eyes fixed only at the princess. And the latter also did the same. It seemed like they were the only two beings existing at that time. Tears fell from the princess eyes, she who was known to be a semi-barbaric person just like her father. The man could hardly believe what was happening. He wanted to go where the princess stood, to hug her and to wipe those tears. He could feel the pain she was feeling at that moment. A princess born with all her desires done immediately, servants, dresses, foods, wanting nothing but perfection but as he looked at her, she was there crying. He felt sorry for her, for causing all her sorrows and pains. He dropped into his knees and shouted out loud, Im sorry. Scrutinizing every inch of what the statement meant, people were glancing at the disheartened and depressed man. But he cared nothing, what matters most was to let his lover know what he felt. The princess wiped her tears and smiled. The man she was looking at was the same man she longed to be with, however, either they were two worlds apart or that the world was against them. Indeed, it was unfair. With a flip of her fingers she can have anything. But with a sudden twist of fate, he came, and without her knowing what was to happen, he had changed her life. He taught her how to love and be loved. A feeling she would surely treasure. With these she came to a realization of how important life was. As the words came from her lovers mouth and as she saw him with his expressions, she knew that their love was true though their happy moment came to their ends. No, dont be sad. Just live a happy life, and with those words she once again smiled. And with that the man stood and took his bow. For them one thing was sure, their love will still remain as long as they live amidst the fact that they were not meant to marry each other. Then, the man returned and joined the ceremony of his wedding with the lady.
