Tripuri crisis On the eve of netaji birthday .

i want to share abt netaji's political hurdle -tr ipuri congress session(held 8to 12 march 1939 ) to start with .netaji subhash chandra bose was a ace leader in indian struggel f or swaraj ,bose had been unanimous choice as president of congress in 1938 ,In 1939 he decided to stand again ,this time bose said he represented "new idieas ,ideologies, problems,programmes" but this was contradicted by several leaders like sardar patel,rajendra prasad. as a result a new candiate named sitaramayya with gandhiji blessings stood up against netaji. the results were fascinating netaji won by 1580 votes against 1377.gandhiji decl ared sitaramayya defeat was "more mine than his". but the election resolved nothing ,it only led to a crisis in tripuri session of congress where netaji was forced to resign from presidentship . the main reasons for crisis was the line of propaganda adapted by bose against s ardar patel and top congress leadership. it was eventually a gandhi-bose debate.bose accused gandhi of being too soft on britishes. bose wanted to lauch an immediate struggle for independce but gandhi did not agr ee. gandhi made a point that mass are not ready to take up struggle, he said they were exhausted in 1930 civil disobedience movement(dandi march), as gandhi belived in S-T-S(struggle truce struggle) startergy. the internal strife reached its climax at tripuri session held on 12 march 1939 ,bose was suprised .when most of his collegues stood by gadhiji he was in comple te offgaurd thereby he resigned to presidentship . after this event bose went to political exile.but the exile was temporary . we know the later history abt netaji commanding INA(Indian National Army)
