Intro The goal of this lab is to gain exposure to the operation of a disposable film camera as well as different measurement

methods to measure various aspects of the cameras operation. In Task 1 our objective was to measure the flash aspect of the camera in correspondence to the shutter mechanism. In Task 1 we used a light probe attached to a computer-based software that allowed us to capture light from the flash on the camera and light that passed through the shutter mechanism. In Tasks 2-4 we performed measurements on the circuit within the camera while different functions were being used. Once again we used computer based software along with a stopwatch and DMM which allowed us to view these different aspects of the camera operations.

Task 4: Trigger Pulse [Graph] In this graph, the flash discharges because of the change from an open circuit to a closed circuit. The flash we see from a camera is when the circuit is closed because the current flows through the bulb when producing light when you close the circuit. In our graph we see the open circuit in the long horizontal lines and then when we get the big negative spike that is when we have close our circuit and the spikes following the big negative spike is signs of ringing or oscillating signals in electrical circuits. Trigger With (s) about 0.2s Peak Voltage (V)about 5.238V

A trigger circuit is a circuit that changes from open to closed to release a high discharge through the circuit. In our case our trigger circuit is located in the flash tube mechanism. Voltage stores in the capacitor and when we trigger the flash the circuit changes from open to closed instantaneously releasing a bright white flash.
