INTRODUCTION


Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) BSE: (BSE: HUL) is India's largest fast moving consumer goods company, touching the lives of two out of three Indians with over 20 distinct categories in home & personal care products and food & beverages

HUL was formed in 1933 as Lever Brothers India Limited and came into being in 1956 as Hindustan Lever Limited through a merger of Lever Brothers, Brothers, Hindustan Vanaspati Mfg. Co. Ltd. and United Mumbai, Traders Ltd.. It is headquartered in Mumbai, India and has an employee strength of over 15,000 employees and contributes for indirect employment of over 52,000 people. The company was renamed in June 2007 to Hindustan Unilever Limited

In 2007, Hindustan Unilever was rated as the most respected company in India for the past 25 years by Business world, one of Indias world, leading business magazines

The company has a and owns 35 major Indian brands. Some of its brands include Kwality walls ice cream, Knorr soups & meal makers, Lifebooy, Lux, Breeze, Liril, Rexona, Haman and Moti soaps, Pureit water purifier, Lipton tea, Brooke Bond tea, Bru coffee, Pepsodent and toothpaste and brushes, and Surf, Rin and Wheel laundry detergents, Kissan squashes and jams.

Annapurna salt and atta, Pond's talcs and creams, Vaseline lotions, Fair and Lovely creams, Lakm beauty products, Clinic Plus, Clinic All Clear, Sun silk and Dove shampoos, Vim dishwasher, Ala bleach, disinfectant, Rexona , and Axe deosprays.

Basically I have done my training with Hindustan Uniliver Ltd. For Water Purifier (Pureit).

History.
  

Firstly, it launched in Chennai: Dec. 2005. It started National launch in starting of 2007. At that time it is present in all states of India. DREAM. Its dream is to protect one billion lives and save one million childern.

Claims.


Pureit claims complete protection from waterwaterborne diseases caused by germs. Pureit claims to be 'As Safe As Boiled Water'. This is also their tag line.

PurePure-it purify the input drinking water in four stage namely..

1. Boiling Method. Positive - It is Simple to operate. - It gives safe drinking water. Negative -Need to ensure proper boiling time(20 min.). -Affects on taste of water. -Risk of recontamination of water.

2. UV Technology. Positives. Positives. -Easy to operate with the click of switch. -Online system-:no need to store water. systemNegative -Require electrcity,constant voltage & running water. -Its easy to operate but require regular maintenance and its costly.

3. Candle Filtration. Positive -Doesnt require running water. -cheap and simple to operate. -candled may cleaned eaisly. Negative -Does not provide safe water. -very slow flow rates.

4. Reverse Osmosis. Positive -Gives safe boiled water. -Doesnt required electrcity. Negative -very expensive for domestic system. -Require running or pressurized water.

Basically, we was selling our Product on the basis of ODPEC theory and REED theory because HUL is working on selling or buying his product by this theory.
