Part II My grandfather used to always tell me that I was taller at night while sleeping than I was during the day while standing. Develop an experiment to determine whether this is true. Use one of your group members as a subject and take the average height of three trials (one standing and one lying down). Do a complete error analysis and draw a conclusion. Using the proper number of significant figures, calculate a percent difference between a standing height and a height lying down. Also calculate a relative percent error of the difference. Relative percent error of the difference = (uncertainty difference) X 100% Example: Bill Smith claims to be 5 10 tall. He is measured with a meter stick while standing and his height is determined to be: 172.7 0.1 cm. 0.1 cm or 1 mm is the uncertainty in the measurement.
