Lonely Planet is thought of by many as the world's most popular travel guide publisher. The first travel guides published by Lonely Planet were aimed at young people travelling in South-East Asia, the Indian subcontinent and the Middle East. The guides gave great advice on where to stay, places to visit and things to avoid. 2. Hydropolis will be the world's first underwater luxury hotel, with 220 suites, all on the bottom of the sea in the Persian Gulf. The hotel will have two domes that break the surface of the water and an underwater train tunnel, all made of transparent materials such as glass and acrylic so that guests can enjoy the underwater view. 3. In the early 1970s, low-cost airfares became available, making it affordable for young people to visit far-off places. They would take a backpack and travel to India and Southeast Asia, following the hippie trail and staying in budget accommodation. More recently, backpacking has become a popular way for young people to mark the end of their studies. 4. The spectacular resort of Chamonix lies at the foot of Europe's highest moun tain: the majestic Mont Blanc. Stay in a luxury chalet with some of the most incredible skiing, snow-boarding and scenery in the world on your doorstep. There are plenty of nonskiing activities, too, and the fashionable shops, restaurants and cafes make Chamonix the perfect destination for everyone.

5. One of the most important things that travellers should remember is that the best places to go are usually not the places which are created to attract tourists. Try and find out where the locals go, because these will be the places that give you a true taste of the country you're visiting.

A-G . , , . Edward Louis Bernays was born in Vienna, Austria, on 22nd November 1891. His uncle was the famous psychoanalyst, Sigmund Freud. Bernays was greatly influenced by his uncle's ideas about the human subconscious (the parts of our minds that we are not aware of). He decided to use Freud's ideas to control the people of America. He believed that by using psy chology, 1)___________________ without them knowing about it. He would influence people by sending mes sages to their subconscious. Bernays lived and worked in New York City from 1919 to 1963, and he called himself a "Public Relations Counsel". In fact, Bernays invented public relations, 2) ____________ .
