Conclusions

Wind power systems security is also related on possibility to ensure continuous operation even in the situation of grid faults or disturbances. Crowbar protection is necessary for DFIG wind turbine during short-circuit conditions to attenuate severe faults. Electrostatic charging/discharge may be harmful for protective circuit, so there is necessary to simulate the behavior of crowbar under the stress this phenomenon. To provide efficient CDM ESD, the crowbar should have high ESD robustness.
