Summary:
Under the uncertainty that the world witnessed nowadays and with the rapid economic
changes, the needs for an investment atmosphere featured by truthfulness, suitability, and
transparency in the accounting information emerged. Such an atmosphere would create a
temptation investment environment, which is expedient for the decision making. This, in
turn, would lead to a high economic growth; especially accounting media rely heavily on
disclosure and measurement.
In fact, the historical accounting information represents the accounting information
contents for the financial statement reporting. However, the prediction power for this
historical information is very limited although it provides the investors with an indicator for
the general trend. From this perspective, especially with the current global financial crises,
claiming that the information that is provided by the managerial accounting is an internal
information and should not be published is unacceptable due to what the current financial
crises revealed. It is rather, more acceptable and rational, with the current circumstances, to
claim that the information which is provided by the managerial accounting is relative for
the external users as it is for the internals, and therefore, should be published in order to
maintain their rights and their investments.
Accordingly, it is vital to develop and improve the contents of the financial statements
reporting in order to be able to provide the current and the probable investors with the
accounting information that help in making decisions through:
-

the availability of the accounting information that help in predicting the future
income for the project and evaluate its performance for the reported period . In
addition, it helps the decision makers to adjust their predictions and evaluate the
degree of risk and uncertainty that they face.
The availability of the accounting information that explains the future cash flows of
the project, as the net cash flows is considered as an indicator to the capability of
the project to meet its external liabilities and obligations, in addition to financing its
operating requirements. This, in turn, would increases the investors income and
enhances their confident toward their investments.
