s Process Management (BPM) Instrument of Evaluation: Assignment Report Marks: 10 Marks Last Date for submission of Hard Copy & Soft Copy of the Report: Fri, 24th Feb 11, 3:00 p.m. Assignment Guidelines: 1) Each student within the group must identify ANY ONE business process which you have working knowledge of based on your previous internship experience(s),. 2) Using the Funnel model diagram, briefly explain how this business process fits into the larger scheme of things in the organization to make the context clear. 3) Explain in detail the working of this business process and what your role in it was. 4) Draw a Business Process Modeling Diagram (BPMD) describing its working. 5) Identify any inefficiency (ies), if any, in this business process and provide suitable justification for the same. 6) Define the To-be state using certain metrics and/or benchmarks and provide suitable justification for the same. 7) Explain the re-engineered process and draw a BPMD to describe the improved workflow. Guidelines for Preparing Assignment Report: 1) Though the assignment is an individual report, it should be submitted as a consolidated report for the entire group. 2) The Report Cover Page must contain the following : Group No, Group Member Details Roll No, Name, Course and Specialization 3) The Table of Contents Page should contain Roll No, Name, Industry/Department, Page No 4) The word count of the Assignment Report Main content should be between 1000-2500 words. 5) The Report must contain a C.D. with the Soft Copy of all assignments of all the group members. 6) Any delay in submission of Report and C.D. will result in a reduction of 5 marks as Late submission. 7) The Assignment Report to be typed in Font - Times New Roman, Font Size - 12, Line Spacing - 1.15. 8) Diagrams to be drawn neatly by hand and enclosed within the report.

Guidelines for Presentations 1) Presentation Time Duration (approx): 20 min and Q&A 10 min. 2-3 Members would be asked to make the presentation (randomly) and the remaining members would be in the Q&A group. 2) If need be, the groups are allowed to swap the dates of the presentation. But it should be intimated to the C.R. and me before the presentation date. 3) The presentation is expected to cover the following : a. An explanation of two max. three processes within the group. b. A Value Stream mapping of the processes along with the Business Process Model Diagrams. c. Application of at least one reengineering methodologies or process measurement techniques such as Six Sigma, DMAIC, Fishbone (Root Cause Analysis) diagram or any suitable methodology or tool. 4) Those students who not able to make oneself available on the day of the presentation for any reason whatsoever will only result in the loss of individual component marks and will be evaluated on the basis of group component marks (5 Marks). 5) The soft copy of the presentation should be emailed to me at kskedar@gmail.com not later than the day of the presentation before the start of the presentation. Failure to do so will result in loss of 3 marks from all the group members presenting.
