ph) Schedule/Venue: Thursdays 6 to 9 pm/Com Sci Bldg Classroom 1 Course Description: Probabilistic Graphical Models (PGM) provide a unifying framework for dealing with uncertainty and complexity that are prevalent in real-world phenomena. These models are now widely used in computer vision, natural language & speech processing, bioinformatics, etc. In this course, students will learn Bayesian Networks, Markov Random Fields, Conditional Random Fields, approximate inference using variational and MCMC methods as well as their applications for intelligent processing of visual, text, and bioinformatics data.
