Click on the fifth button on the toolbar, or choose [User Management/User Login] menu to pop up a "User Login" window. Enter user name and password, then click <OK> button. See Figure 1-1.
Figure 1-1 User login After the user is successfully logged in, the above-mentioned window would be automatically closed and the user can proceed to perform desired operations. If the login fails, the reason would be displayed in the window.
1.2.2
Interface Operations
As shown in Figure 1-2, the interface of site maintenance terminal system is divided into the following parts: menu, toolbar, BTS logic object, object function, alarm window, status bar and etc. All the menu commands in the menu are easy to understand and the buttons on the toolbar are shortcuts for these commands. Move the cursor on a button to display its functions.
Figure 1-2 Site maintenance terminal system BTS logic objects and their functions will be described later. This part focuses on alarm functions. As shown in Figure 1-3, the part in light blue on the interface of site maintenance terminal system is BTS alarm display part, that means, when an alarm occurs to BS, it would be displayed in this part of the interface. Double click any alarm message in, it would display an "Alarm Detailed Explanation" window for this alarm, as shown in Figure 1-5. Right click a certain alarm message would pop up a menu as shown in Figure 1-4. Choose commands on the menu, and the functions of message setting, saving, clearing and scrolling can be performed over the message in the alarm window.

Installation
II.
If MMI fails to connect to BS, a failure dialogue box would pop up. Click <OK> button in this box to open a dialogue box as shown in Figure 2-2 and set the communication port parameters in it. Select a communication port as COM1, COM2 or COM3 according to which port is actually connected to the cable, and select "38400" as the communication rate, then click <OK> button.
Figure 2-2 Set communication port parameters dialogue box If MMI still cannot get connected to BTS after all these settings, check whether the hardware connection of maintenance cables and the serial port hardware of the operation terminal is normal.
"SITE" Functions
As shown in Figure 2-1 BTS O&M Man-Machine Interface, left click [Site0] in the tree structure, and all the function commands corresponding to [Site0] would be displayed in the right part of this site window. Detailed description of the function commands under [Site0], including operation procedures as well as the explanation of function commands, is given in the following.
II.
Description
This function command is used for MMI to obtain or release site administrationship. Once MMI obtains site administrationship, it can take the place of BSC to perform such operation and maintenance functions over BTS as various configurations, attribute settings, operations on boards, and etc. In this sense, MMI plays the role of background maintenance. Normally, all O&M commands can be executed by this MMI. When MMI releases site administrationship, the O&M commands related to modification can no longer be executed, while the O&M commands related to reading can still be executed as usual.
