As per the survey, the population below poverty line is 1741 out of it 1517 area recognized. 75 % of the total houses in Bhikangaon slums are Kutcha which is made of temporary structures made with wood, bamboo and plastic / tarpaulin sheet. The average built up area of any house is around 32 Sq.m. The status of basic infrastructure in slums is very poor. Lack of social infrastructures like parks, playground, community centre, nursery school, health centers etc. People in slum area do not have access to good governance in land tenure. There is a considerable amount of squatter in Bhikangaon due to the lack of any planned intervention.
