Building Information Modeling:

BIM is the progress of a building through its life starting with design. Using a suitable software, the building is designed and built . Most important characteristic of BIM is to create a common ground between planning and building phases. During modeling phase, it provides creating a suitable project at a shorter time with the cooperation of several working disciplines. As for the building phase, the process helps builder to contact the designers when necessary. BIM reduces reworking on the project due to lack of communication between designers or constructer. It helps making changes during construction and resolving a sudden crisis. Buildings can be optimised. Lifecycle of the building can be predicted.

BESTEST Procedure: The procedure was created by the International Energy Agency to determine the capability of the softwares. It combines a bunch of well-known and pretty accurate software programs to validate other softwares. The softwares are tested in two steps. The steps are called Tier. In Tier 1 the software is tested using a basic house. In Tier 2 the ability of software to use geographical information of the building is tested. If the software passes boh of the Tiers it is considered as successful.
