sister's old bedroom she experiences flashbacks of her early days with Madhuri and her mother. After the flashback she mourned over the death of her mother and sister. Meanwhile, she saw someone familiar outside the window. She went outside and called out to that person but it was unavailing as the thunder muffled her voice. When she went back into the house she smelt smoke coming from Madhuris room. Her sister's room was burning. Fortunately, her father appeared in time to put out the fire. Puan Fatihah was about to go see the village bomoh to attain a charm for Haji Ghani when suddenly she saw someone who appears to be Madhuri reaching out to her. However she couldn't really tell, as Puan Fatimah only saw her under the dim light. She passed out as soon as the woman touched her. After the fire incident Saleh Abdullah found a yellow cord near the scene of the fire. He charged straight away to Awangs house to have a word with him. While Azreen's father was at Awang's house, arguing with him; Azreen went to the Old Ladys house for comfort. Meanwhile, Ashraf went to the marketplace and tried to find some medicinal plants while his gradmother was left alone at home, but there were none due to the flood. He was in desperate need of those medicinal herbs; but with no other choice, he had to ask the old lady for help. He begged the Old Lady to go see his grandmother but she hesitated. However after Asraf persuaded the Old Lady to come, she finally agrees to help him.
