GREECE

People know Greece for her culture and her islands. Capital of Greece is Athens. It is the biggest city of Greece and it has four million peoples and it is one of the oldest capitals of Europe. There are many new buildings, cubs and restaurants. It is one of the world's oldest cities, its recorded history spans around 3,400 years.

The official language is Greek but there are many non-officials, minority languages and some Greek dialects which are spoken as well. Greek language has evolved very much. It has created since 3000 years b.c. The Greek Islands are a collection of over 6,000[1] islands and islets that belong to Greece. Only 227 of the islands are inhabited, and only 78 of those have more than 100 inhabitants. Greek Islands are also proud to import its own extra virgin olive oil, wine, cheeses, seafood, olives, herbs and spices directly from Greece. We only use healthy, natural and fresh ingredients in our cooking. The history of Greece starts over thousands of years, with its beginnings in the Mycenaean and Minoan Civilizations, continuing most notably into Classical Greece, the Hellenistic Period, through the influence of the Roman Empire and its Greek Eastern successor the Byzantine Empire. The Ottoman Empire too had a significant influence on Greek culture, but the Greek war of independence is credited with revitalizing Greece and giving birth to a single entity of its multi-faceted culture throughout the ages. The most serious is the democracy, philosophy and Greek drama. The Greek cuisine is famous throughout the world for its wonderful taste, variety and nutrition, as the cuisines of the Mediterranean countries are considered the healthiest of all cuisines. Eating in Greece is intertwined with good company and discussion, and for this reason it is considered an important part of the everyday life of the Greeks. Some Greek dishes are very well - known and are served in restaurants throughout the world such as moussaka, stifado, Greek Salad, spanakopita and the world famous souvlaki. So, the job at hand is simple: decide which particular Greece you want to experience. Then come and find it.
