Teaching

Education has always played an important role in my life; therefore Idecided to do my major in teaching. It is hard to get a job or pretty much anything in the economy with out some education under your belt. Getting an education is a major factor for getting far in life. For now I am getting my Assoicates of Arts Degree in Teaching through Ozarks Technical Community College. I look forward to telling you about why I decided to chose this as my career choice and my major. I decided I was going to become a teacher during my senior year in high school. Even when I was younger, I would play school with my sisters and brother. I would always be the teacher and they would be the students. I also decided during this time that I would like to teach at a sixth-eighth grade, social studies or language arts. I loved going to school and listening to the teachers teach. Now being a part of the learning environment for our future generations is going to be both a wonderful and exciting expierence for the students and I. There are many reasons I have chosen to become a teacher. The most important reason I have chosen to become a teacher is because I want to teach the generations of our future. By being able to teach them and show them that learning doesnt have to be a painful experience and make them actually want to learn and understand how important getting an education is for their future and getting far in life. I want to be able to show the kids that school doesnt have to be boring blah, blah, blah lectures, that it can be fun and interesting. I want a kid to be able to come up to me and say. Mrs. Ashlyn, I really learned something from your lecture today. Thank you for teaching me that.

Another important reason is that I want to show kids that you can learn so much by particapting in class.
