COMPARING YOURSELF TO OTHER PARTS OF THE WORLD, HOW DID YOU DO AND IS IT WHAT YOU EXPECTED? I didnt realize how much CO2 Im producing only to drive a car. If Im comparing myself with other parts of the world I would compare with Ecuador My total footprint is 25.54 metric tons, which equates to 283.80 metric tons per year**. In USA the average foot print p/people = 20.40 ** In Ecuador the average foot print p/people = 2.27 ** If Im correct on my calculations, this is how much more CO2 Im producing from the average foot print per people: 25% more than the average foot print p/people in USA, and 1025% more than the foot print p/people in Ecuador This is a lot!!!!!! The extensive use of my car!!! In USA the distances are crazy we used cars for everything especially if we want to save time!!! I thought that I was doing a good job on taking caking care of the environment, but Im not at all!!! To help to reduce my footprint I would need to get rid of car, which is impossible. What is can do is start to use the bus rather than my car to go to school and work, I would walk or use my bike if I need to go to a place with a short distance and always make sure my cars engine is in a very good condition.
