2012 PACIFIC LIFE PAC-12 BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT Post-Game Notes

MENS GAME 11: #6 Colorado (53), #4 Arizona (51) Saturday, March 10, 2012
Colorado is the 2012 Pacific Life Pac-12 Basketball Tournament champion and earns the Conferences automatic berth in the NCAA tournament. Colorado will be making its 11th NCAA Tournament appearance (last was 2002-03 season). In its inaugural Pac-12 season, Colorado has captured three Conference championships (also mens and womens cross country). The #4 and #6 seeds have only met once before in the Tournament, but it was in the 2009 title game . . . #6 USC upset #4 ASU, 66-63. Colorados record improves to 23-11 and 4-0 in Tournament play. Colorado played four games in four days, something it hadnt done since March 6-9, 1934. This was the lowest-scoring game in a Tournament championship game 104 points (123 UCLA 71, Cal 52, Mar. 12, 2006). Arizona loses the Tournament title game by two points for the second straight year. These are the two narrowest margins of victory in Tournament title games. Andre Roberson of Colorado set the record for most rebounds in a Tournament with 41. (37, Phil Zevenbergen, Washington, 1987, 3 games.)

Roberson earned his 19th double-double of the season and third of the Tournament. Colorados Carlon Brown equaled the Tournament record for most steals (9 Gary Payton, Oregon State, 3 games). Colorados Spencer Dinwiddie notched his 19th 10+ point scoring game of the season and second in the Tournament (Utah). Carlon Brown scored in double figures in each of the four Tournament games (25 on the season). Wildcat Kyle Fogg scored in double figures for the 12th consecutive game (25th this season.) Solomon Hill did so for the 26th time this season and fifth in a row.

Arizona is now 4-6 this season when it is does not out-rebound an opponent (19-5 when it out-rebounds an opponent.)
