Welcome to the new school year! This year will be very special for your child. You can help him or her enjoy learning English in the following very simple ways: Show genuine interest in the topic your child is working on. Invite your child to show you his or her work. Ask what activities your child likes and doesnt like. Give genuine recognition for effort and completion of tasks verbally or with written messages of congratulations and encouragement. Remember to praise both your child and his or her work. Help your child find materials that he or she can bring to school. Accept your childs invitations to see class projects or school events. Make sure your child has a comfortable workspace at home, with good lighting and ventilation and appropriate equipment and/or materials. If anyone in the family speaks English with your child, make sure he or she does not feel this is a test. Be flexible and let your child find the confidence to speak English in his or her own time. Querida familia,
Bienvenidos a un nuevo curso de ingls. Este ao va a ser muy especial para su hijo o hija. Estas sugerencias pueden ayudar a su hijo a disfrutar el aprendizaje del ingls, an cuando ustedes no lo hablen: Demuestre genuino inters en el tema que se est estudiando. Invtele a mostrarle sus trabajos. Pregntele cuales son sus actividades favoritas. Felictele por el esfuerzo que realiza cuando completa sus trabajos. Puede hacerlo verbalmente o escribiendo pequeos mensajes de felicitaciones y reconocimiento. Recuerde felicitar al nio por su trabajo. Aydele a buscar y llevar materiales al colegio. Acepte invitaciones para ver proyectos de clase y participe en los eventos del colegio. Aydele a trabajar cmodamente en su casa en un espacio bien iluminado y ventilado donde rena los materiales y equipos necesarios. Asegrese que tiene los materiales que necesita llevar al colegio cada da. Si algn miembro de la familia habla ingls con el nio, asegrese que ste no lo perciba como una prueba de conocimientos. Sea flexible y paciente hasta que el nio encuentre la confianza para expresarse. Continuaremos informndole sobre el tema de cada mes y las actividades en las que puede participar.
