CASE 1- Your IT function had a QA started in 1987 which was terminated in a cost cut-back in 1989. At
that time, the employees of the quality assurance function personally performed most of the quality efforts,
such as conduction reviews and writing standards. You were recently appointed quality assurance manager.
You know that the tasks previously performed by the quality assurance group should, in fact, be
incorporated into the day-to-day work programs of the IT function. What approach would you like to
incorporate quality practices into the software development processes? (15)

Case 3- Customer had reported serious defects in the Daily Balance report. Then the customer is unhappy
that the problem has not yet been fixed even after a week. What steps as the Project Manager you would
take to restore the confidence level of the customer and ensure that such problems never occur in the future.

Case 4-You are the IT Director. You have a number of sub-contractors working for your department. Most
of the sub-contractor representatives are stationed in your premises. Recently the instances of defective
products delivered by the sub-contractors have increased. Moreover you are aware of the uneasiness
amongst your employees. How would you handle the situation? (15)
