Rule #5- Always use an approved pressure regulator on an acetylene fuel tank

When ready to turn off:

When the job is finished remove the pressure regulator from the fuel tank

Rule #6- Always Secure the fuel tank while using the torch

Rule #7- Work in a well Ventilated Space
Do not place your head over the joint being brazed.When flux is heated during brazing harmful vapors released which could be toxic if inhaled directly into the lungs

Rule #8- Handle tubing ends & brazed joints carefully


Newly cut tubing can be very sharp.Newly brazed joints are very hot until they are cooled down with a wet towel.Copper is a very good conductor of heat which could cause the tubing to be very hot for some distance from the joint

Attending Sealed System Refrigerant Charging

Precaution :

While lightning torch first open acetylene, light torch, then open oxygen. While shutting off torch, first close acetylene, then oxygen. Do not clamp hose with wire / capillary. This may cut hose. Use hose clamp. Use torch lighter only. Never use lighted cloth / cotton waste for lightning torch. Store cylinder in cool & dry place. Clamp cylinders on cylinder stand with strong chain. Hose length should be sufficient, to make work area away from cylinders. Fire extinguisher / sand bucket / water bucket should be always available. Do not temper with gas regulator or pressure gauge. Use only cylinder key for opening / closing the cylinder.
