What is a resume?

A concise written statement highlighting your qualities and skills. It communicates the most through minimum use of words. It is designed to persuade an employer to grant you an interview.

Who should have a resume?

Everyone. An average individual changes jobs at least once every 4-6 years. Fresh graduates and students. Students use a resume for projects or internships. Graduates use it for Management trainee jobs.

The employer..

Gets the first impression from a candidates resume. He/she uses it to weed out prospective employees.

When should I begin?

Now. A resume grows and changes as you do.

Begin by.

Sketching your educational achievements. Jot down your previous work experience. Put down the following dates, titles, institutions/firms/supervisors Put down key learnings.

To create a pool of information. The best resumes are those that target to the employers needs. Do a little research about your employer. Look up company websites, annual reports and other publications.
