Effective at 2:00 p.m. today March 23rd,2012 the Temporary Bum Ban for Clinton County has been lifted. Please see the attached letter for additional information.
Even though the bum ban has been lifted, citizens are encouraged to use caution and follow the basic guidelines below.
Prior to starting a controlled bum individuals must notify Clinton County Communications by calling 563-242-9211 extension 4532 or 1-800-462-6530.
Never bum under windy conditions - high winds, especially shifting winds, can create unconfollable conditions that can quickly result in an escaped "confolled" burn.
Always bum against the wind and dorvnhill.
Only burn when soil moisture is moderate to high.
Always wear appropriate clothing and have proper fire control equipment on hand. Always follow local burning regulafions and restrictions. When in doubg call your local fire
department.
