Afterall Afterall undertakes contemporary art research within the academic framework of Central Saint Martins and its

international educational and cultural partner institutions. It aims to make this research widely available to a variety of audiences through its books, journal, online articles, seminars and symposia. Afterall is committed to the idea that art, and writing on art, should be independent of the commercial art market and engaged with broad educational, cultural, social and political ideas. Chelsea Prize For the 2012 Chelsea Prize, Afterall will give an emerging writer a chance to develop his or her skills by contributing to Afterall Online. Afterall will provide editorial support and feedback, as well as an award of 300. To apply please send a proposal for a series of three short articles. The proposal should clearly explain why your series would enrich and expand the range of articles currently published at afterall.org/online, and demonstrate what research, knowledge and writing skills you would bring to delivering one or all of them. We would welcome a creative approach that acknowledges the range of articles (reviews, profiles, picture essays) already published by Afterall and offers something new.
