One way to determine how to get students into the library voluntarily is to determine what they are doing

on their own. They like graphics. I asked my 5 study hall kids, two are in 7th grade, and 3 are in 8th grade, what do they think of when they think of the library. The replies were, Books, dust and a lot of shelves. Quiet time. Silence and strict librarians. Peaceful. Cool chairs. I asked these five kids what would make the library more interesting. Facebook would be enough. Being able to text in the library. Cooler colors on the walls. So, these five students tell me that more privileges and a more attractive library would improve their view of the library.
