FANTASY GENRE Fantasy is a type of genre that contains unrealistic settings, or magic, often set in a medieval universe, or possibly involving mythical beings or supernatural forms as a primary element of the plot, theme, or setting. Something magical is almost always part of fantasy and magic may be seen in the setting or in the plot. It may even be practiced by the characters. Fantasy usually describes those stories that could not happen in real life. With its roots in myth and legend, fantasy is the most elemental of all the genres. It is certainly interesting that many people for many generations believed in myth and legend in a way that dramatically affected their life and their culture. An example of a fantasy is Beauty and the Beast. The characters are often animals given human characteristics.

MYSTERY Mystery is a genre of fiction in which a detective, either an amateur or a professional, solves a crime or a series of crimes. Because detective stories rely on logic, supernatural elements rarely come into play. The detective may be a private investigator, a policeman, an elderly widow, or a young girl, but he or she generally has nothing material to gain from solving the crime. The mystery is what makes this genre interesting. It keeps the person entertained because, the mystery is who committed the crime, or what happens in the end. An example of a mystery is Scooby-Doo. Shaggy and the gang always run into some type of mystery and it is up to the whole gang to solve the mystery.
