To prevent malfunction and/or damage to speakers or other devices,

always turn down the volume, and turn off the power on all devices before
making any connections.
Once the connections have been completed, turn on power to your guitar
amp or other amplification system last. By turning on devices in the wrong
order, you risk causing malfunction and/or damage to speakers and other
devices.

When you're using the Flat feature, the pitch of the tones played is adjusted accordingly.

When you're using Sound mode, tuning cannot be performed using the
built-in mic (the built-in mic is disabled).

Preventing Battery Drain If You Forget to Switch Off the

Power (Auto Power Off Feature)
When the TU-88 is turned on and powered by a battery, the power is turned off
automatically if approximately 30 minutes passes without any button being
pressed.

Deactivating the Auto Power Off Feature

You can temporarily deactivate the Auto Power Off feature when you power up the
TU-88. To do so, simultaneously hold down [ ] and [ ] while you press [ ]
(Power button) to turn on the power.
The Auto Power Off feature is always enabled when you switch on the power in the
usual way.

Switching the Accu-Pitch Feature On and Off

The frequency of the A4 ptich (the middle A on a piano keybord)
that is used in tuning for performances is called the "reference pitch."

In CHROMATIC mode, the TU-88 automatically displays note names and string
numbers as you play them on your instrument. Most of the time, you'll find that
CHROMATIC is the most convenient mode to use.
If you wish to tune by specifying the string number first, use GUITAR or
BASS mode.

5. If you've selected GUITAR or BASS, press [ ] or [ ] to choose the

string number you want to tune.
6. If necessary, press [SEL] with [ ] and [ ] to make settings for Flat
tuning and/or the reference pitch.

When the Accu-Pitch feature is on, a beeping sound is played when the pitch of the
instrument youre tuning stabilizes within a range of three cents above or below
the correct pitch. This sound tells you that the pitch is in tune.

Using a Tone to Indicate Tuning is Completed

Once a battery is installed in the TU-88, the following settings can be stored in
memory, where they'll be preserved even while the power is turned off.
Removing the battery returns the TU-88 to its original factory settings.

Gerten zu vermeiden, regeln Sie stets die Lautstrke herunter und
schalten Sie alle Gerte aus, bevor Sie Verbindungen herstellen.

Verwendung des Stimmgerts (Normale

Verwendung CHROMATIC-Modus)
1. Schlieen Sie das zu stimmende Instrument an der INPUT-Buchse an.
Wenn Sie ein akustisches Instrument stimmen, verwenden Sie statt dessen das
eingebaute Mikrofon. Um das Mikrofon zu verwenden, vergewissern Sie sich, dass
an der INPUT- und der OUTPUT-Buchse nichts angeschlossen ist, und stellen Sie
den TU-88 nah am Instrument auf.
* Um Fehlfunktionen und/oder Schden an Lautsprechern oder anderen Gerten zu vermeiden, regeln
Sie stets die Lautstrke herunter und schalten Sie alle Gerte aus, bevor Sie Verbindungen herstellen.

2. Drcken Sie die [ ]-Taste, um das Gert einzuschalten.

3. Drcken Sie die [ TUNER]-Taste, um in den Stimmmodus zu schalten.
4. Drcken Sie die [SEL]-Taste, und whlen Sie dann mit den Tasten [ ]
[ ] den Stimmmodus aus (CHROMATIC, GUITAR oder BASS).
Im CHROMATIC-Modus zeigt der TU-88 automatisch die Namen der Tne und die
Saitennummern an, die Sie auf Ihrem Instrument spielen. Sie werden vermutlich
feststellen, dass in den meisten Fllen der CHROMATIC-Modus am praktischsten ist.
Wenn Sie beim Stimmen zuerst die Saitennummer angeben mchten,

5. Wenn Sie GUITAR oder BASS ausgewhlt haben, whlen Sie mit den
Pfeiltasten [ ] und [ ] die Nummer der zu stimmenden Saite aus.

[ ] Einstellungen fr Flat Tuning (Saiten tiefer stimmen) und/oder
Referenztonhhe vor.

Wenn der TU-88 eingeschaltet und ber Batterie betrieben wird, schaltet er sich
automatisch aus, wenn etwa 30 Minuten vergehen, ohne dass eine Taste gedrckt wird.

Deaktivieren der Auto-Power-Off-Funktionen

Sie knnen die Auto-Power-Off-Funktion vorbergehend deaktivieren, wenn Sie
den TU-88 einschalten. Halten Sie dazu die Pfeiltasten [ ] und [ ] gedrckt,
whrend Sie das Gert mit der [ ]-Taste (Netztaste) einschalten.
Die Auto-Power-Off-Funktion ist immer aktiviert, wenn Sie das Gert auf normale
Weise einschalten.

Wenn die Accu-Pitch-Funktion eingeschaltet ist, erklingt ein Signalton, wenn sich
die Tonhhe des zu stimmenden Instruments im Bereich von drei Cent ber oder
unter der richtigen Tonhhe stabilisiert. Dieses Signal weist Sie darauf hin, dass die
Tonhhe richtig ist.

Ein- und Ausschalten der Accu-Pitch-Funktion

1. Halten Sie die [ TUNER]-Taste gedrckt, und schalten Sie das Gert
mit der [ ]-Taste (Netztaste) ein.
Durch diesen Vorgang wird die Accu-Pitch-Funktion ein- oder ausgeschaltet. Bei
aktivierter Accu-Pitch-Funktion wird im Display Accu-Pitch angezeigt. Wenn die
Funktion deaktiviert ist, wird nichts angezeigt.

Wenn in den TU-88 eine Batterie eingelegt ist, bleiben die folgenden Einstellungen
auch nach Ausschalten im internen Speicher gesichert.
Beim Entfernen der Batterie wird der TU-88 auf seine

Utilisation de laccordeur (utilisation normale

1. Branchez linstrument accorder la prise INPUT.
Si vous accordez un instrument acoustique, utilisez le micro intgr. Pour utiliser le
micro, veillez ce quaucun lment ne soit branch sur les prises INPUT ou
OUTPUT et placez le TU-88 prs de linstrument.

5. Si vous avez slectionn GUITAR ou BASS, appuyez sur [ ] ou [ ]

pour choisir le numro de corde accorder.
6. Si ncessaire, appuyez sur [SEL] avec [ ] et [ ] pour dfinir les
paramtres daccord altr et/ou le diapason de rfrence.

Changement de la pile
