Dolcet (Tramadol)

Classification: Analgesic, Muscle Relaxant Action: A centrally acting analgesic that binds to mu-opioid receptors and inhibits reuptake of norepinephrine and serotonin Indication: Moderate to severe pain Contraindication: Hypersensitivity to opioid analgesics, Pregnancy, Lactation, Adverse Effects: Vasodilation, Vertigo, Dizziness, Headache, Anxiety, Sleep disorder, Constipation, Confusion Nursing Considerations: Assess patients level of pain before administration Instructed to take full course Instructed to take drug only as prescribed Monitor V/S carefully Assess for orthostatic hypertension or signs of CNS depression Discontinue drug if signs of allergic reaction occur Assess bowel and bladder function
