The sinoatrial node (SA node) generates electrical impulses It generates a wave of excitatory impulses which spread to the two atria causing them to contract simultaneously. So, blood is forced from atria into the ventricles. After the blood is forced into the ventricles, AVN will stimulate. Impulses from AV node are conducted by specialised muscle fibre called bundle of His and Purkinje fibres to the ventricular walls This causes the contraction of both ventricles to pump the blood out of the heart. Right ventricle pump the blood into the pulmonary artery Pulmonary arteries force the blood to the lungs Left ventricle, which is thicker and more muscular than the right ventricle, generates greater pressure to pump blood through the aorta to the arteries in the body
