How to UPGRADE an Oracle database to 6.2.x or 7.

x
Beginning with P6.2, Configasst has been replaced with DBSETUP. DBSETUP.BAT is a Java application used to to create the PMDB, MMDB, and Content Repository databases. It can run on Unix or Windows. Rundbsetup.bat(dbsetup.shforLinux)fromthe\install\databasefolderoftheP6.2 physicalmediaordownload.Ifthemediawascopiedtoashareddrive,the\database directorymustbecopiedtoalocaldriveforthedbsetuputilitytoruncorrectly. Oracle Database Choose Upgrade an existing database. Choose Oracle. Enter Product Key (example: EC-C01). Click Next.

The Oracle instance must already exist. Make sure that the Oracle listener is set up for this instance. Enter system and its associated password for the DBA username and password. Database host address: Enter the server name or ip address of the database server. Database host port: Enter the port the Oracle listener is listening on. Database name: Enter the Oracle instance name. Click Next.

Enter the privileged username (default is privuser). Enter the public username (default is pubuser). Click Next.

Choose Yes, upgrade my database. Click Next.

This screen displays the progress of the database upgrade. When completed, click Next.

If you have other Oracle databases to upgrade (i.e. Methodology Management), click Next, otherwise, click Finish.

How to UPGRADE a SQL Server 2005 Database to 6.2.x or 7.x


Run dbsetup.bat (dbsetup.sh for Linux) from the \install\database folder of the P6.2 physical media or download.

Administrative username/password should be the sa user and its password. Database host address: Name or ip address of machine where database is located. The database host port is the port that the SQL Server database is using. To view the port currently in use: Start - Programs - Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - Configuration Tools - Configuration Manager SQL Server 2005 Network Configuration TCPIP - IP Addresses Under the group IPALL You can use the PORT identified under Dynamic Port or Static Port in the Connection Information Database Host Port.

Choose Yes, upgrade my database. Click Next.

This screen displays the progress of the database upgrade. When completed, click Next.

If you have other SQL Server databases to upgrade (i.e. Methodology Management), click Next, otherwise, click Finish.
