They lived in hiding for over two years until they were betrayed and arrested by German police in 1944.     Anna Frank

    Hi my name is Anna Frank. I was born June 19, 1929 to Otto and Edith Frank. I was born in Frank am mam, Germany. On January 30 the first Jewish laws were established. The night of broken glass happened on November 9th and 10th it was the Germans burning down Jewish buildings and businesses. In 1940 we Jews were forced to go to Jewish schools and were enrolled in Jewish lyceum. Dutch Jews were not allowed to go to the movies or use public transportation preventing me from one of my favorite pass times. We had to eventually wear yellow stars on all our clothing to show we are Jews. On my 13th birthday I received my diary which was really an autograph book.

    On July 6th we went into hiding. I had to leave my favorite cat, Moortje. Our family had in hidden In a room behind the store. The Van Danns or Van Pels went into hiding with us along with their son, Peter. Also, Fritz Pfeffer a dentist and family friend joins us. On August 4th our hiding place was ransacked by German police followed by a tipper who was never identified. All of us are arrested and taken Gestapo headquarters.
