I. TRANSPORTATION Children are intrigued by different modes of transportation. Stories based on the first letters of their names, the child could select a mode of transportation with the first letter of her name e.g. suppose the childs name is Mahesh - he can write about motor cycle, motor boat, mail truck etc. They can also select a destination beginning with the same letter e.g. Madagascar, Malegoan Have a Globe and a World Map available in the class. Children get very excited when they find places that begin with the first letters of their names. Allow the students to use the A-Z list of modes of transportation given in the following page. Students can also be instructed to complete the following Travel Brochure worksheet about a particular place.
