1. Citation HR Magazine cover story Ready, Set, Hire! Meinert, Dori. (2012, January 01). Ready, Set, Hire!. HR Magazine, 57(1), Retrieved fromhttp://www.shrm.org/Publications/hrmagazine/EditorialContent/2012/0112/ Pages/0112meinert.aspx 2. Website SHRM http://www.shrm.org Society for Human Resource Management 3. Homepage Critique The homepage is a less cluttered form of the Yahoo homepage layout. It has a large banner at the top of the page that scrolls through information SHRM would like to get across. It is very neat and organized into three columns, Featured Story, drop down menu of various content, and Featured video. The site is very simple to navigate and all the menus are broken down into specific topics. All the content is relevant to the HR field and the content goes through the full spectrum of HR. It also has a specific section for users who are looking for jobs. Content Review I browsed through the job openings in Pennsylvania and there are 33 job openings. These openings ranged from HR assistants to VP of HR. It is surprising that there was such a range of HR positions available just this month. The SHRM site also has a feature that allows you to contact HR professionals which like Linkedin is a good way to network. This type of content will be extremely useful when job searching. Site Comparison I will be comparing eXude Benefits Group, Inc. (http://www.exudebenefits.com/) and Sibson Consulting (http://www.sibson.com/). Both websites are easy to navigate and to find job postings only took one to two links to follow. While Sibson has a more traditional format with the mission statement and history, eXude immediately shows how it differentiates itself from its competitors. Both offer similar services although Sibson is an international level firm while eXude is more of a local area firm. Some of the benefits Sibson offers that eXude doesnt are Executive Compensation and Corporate Governance, HR Technology and Automation, and International HR and Benefits.
