About Marysville

Marysville, the county seat of Union County, Ohio, was originally laid out in 1820, with he first permanent settlement being made by Abraham Amrine in 1817. In 1824, the first post office was established. At this time, there were only four families in the village. In 1828, a log cabin on the east side of town was the first school. By 1839, there were three schools. In 1843, the first high school was opened by Caroline Humphrey Today Marysville is a city with a population of over 22,000 people, having grown substantial since the 1980s. Scotts, the largest producer in the world of horticulture products, has their R&D operations and corporate headquarters in Marysville. In 1948, Nestle USA opened a research and development center in Marysville. Nestl is located on the west side of the city, and in recent years improved their facilities with a modern, multi-million dollar makeover. Hondas first production facilities opened the United States were the Marysville Motorcycle Plant (1979) and the Marysville Auto Plant (1982). The
