com> Date: Fri, Mar 16, 2012 at 3:03 PM Subject: PRA request from the LA Daily News -- List of dismissed teachers To: pra@lausd.net Dear Mr. Holmquist: Pursuant to my rights under the California Public Records Act (Government Code S ection 6250 et seq.), I ask to obtain the following records: -- A list of the approximately 860 teachers dismissed by the Los Angeles Unified School District board since Dr. John Deasy became superintendent on April 15, 2 011. -- The most recent location of teachers assigned to a specific campus (in other words, those who were not substitutes). -- The reason for their dismissal, including misconduct, poor performance, non-r e-election, etc. -- Whether the employee has appealed his or her dismissal to the Commission on P erformance Competency. -- Whether the employee received a payout to drop an appeal and, if so, the amou nt of the settlement. I ask for a determination on this request within 10 days of your receipt of it, and an even prompter reply if you can make that determination without having to review the record(s) in question. In addition, if another media outlet has requested similar materials, I ask that you notify me so that I may consider modifying my request in order to expedite release of the records. If you determine that some but not all of the information is exempt from disclos ure and that you intend to withhold it, I ask that you redact it for the time be ing and make the rest available as requested.
