Using MAP Assessment Data to Identify Student Instructional Needs

MAP results show teachers the strengths and weaknesses of all their students by revealing the specific areas in which they excel or falter. Teachers can then use this information to help with instructional planning for students who are performing at any grade level. The Class Breakdown by Overall RIT Report provides a classroom-level view of academic diversity by grouping students based on their subject-area test scores. Clicking on the subject-area heading drills down to the next report.

The Class Breakdown by Goal Report displays academic diversity within a goal performance area. In each of the score-range columns, students names are listed alongside their overall subject area score. Clicking on a student name or score-range links to the appropriate page in NWEAs DesCartes: A Continuum of Learning.

NWEAs DesCartes: A Continuum of Learning lists the skills and concepts most appropriate for students based on their test scores.
