URBAN POPULATION AND MANAGEMENT

What is urban population


An urban area is characterized by higher population density and vast human features in comparison to areas surrounding it. Urban areas may be cities, towns or conurbations, but the term is not commonly extended to rural settlements such as villages and hamlets. And the population associated with urban area called urban popullation.

Urban growth is result of


Natural increase (the excess of births over deaths) Net in-migration (from rural and undeveloped areas) Reclassification of boundaries (increasing the boundaries )

Problem associated with population


Health Conditions
Malnutrition and disease are addressed by regions that experience high population growth.

Allocation of Resources
Allocation of Land, water, food etc. become difficult to distribute over large population.

Pollution Issues such as air pollution stemming from industrial activity, waterborne infections carried through unsanitary drinking water, and mismanagement of solid waste plague densely populated areas of the world. Major Unemployment unemployment rate which is the number of unemployed workers divided by the total civilian labor force.
