The Hershey Workers' Sit-Down Strike of 1937 impacted the treatment and wages for workers today.

Although, it was days of violence between Loyalists, workers, and farmers it reformed the confectionery industry in Pennsylvania. Because of the strike, there was a huge roadblock in the production of products due to the striking workers. Which then outraged the farmers, because they were also losing profits, and caused a nightmare in dream town. The strike revolutionized the Hershey Corporation's work by unionizing the workers. With this unionization the conditions of working, along with the wages were improved. Because of this civil war in Hershey, workers today have an equal pay for their hours. Being from Pennsylvania, both group members thought the Hershey Workers Strike of 1937 fit the theme: Revolution, Reaction, Reform perfectly. Resources were easily accessible. Also, it was great learning more about local areas. For this topic, we felt that a website would be best to show the many different perspectives of the strike. We were able to divide the four groups that took part in the strike. As well as use images from newspapers to tell the story. Going to the Hershey Archives along with the state and public library provided excellent sources. The Hershey Archives allowed us to look at newspapers, photographs, manuscripts, and interviews during the strike which are great primary sources. Out best primary source would be the newspaper articles and photographs we were able to look at in the Hershey Archives. These articles and photographs gave more in depth look into the four perspectives involved in the strike. For more secondary sources the state library and public library provided many of those. Librarians also recommended secondary websites which provided useful information. The website was divided to show the sides of the Loyalists, the farmers, the Hershey Strikers, and the citizens. Throughout the site maintained the theme: Revolution, Reaction, and

Reform with the use of a timeline of events which included actions that led up to the strike and also what happened during the strike. The Hershey Workers Strike of 1937 revolutionized the confectionary industry today with equal pair for fair hours. Because of the strike, the reactions to the Hershey plant changed. The Hershey image was tainted with pictures of bloody men and a plant in chaos. Although the strike was days of violence, workers today have the demands that the strikers wanted.
