Overview

To improve the safety and convenience of seniors who relies on ambulatory aids for mobility, the team designed a pair of walker accessories that enhances the stability of indooruse standard walkers when the user reaches out for an object.

Four 120 mm diameter power vacuum pads anchors the walker to ground surface Attachable to a wide range of presently available walkers Vacuum suction is activated by stepping onto the feet pedals on both sides of the walker. Stepping a second time releases the suction. Attached to the leg of walkers using adjustable screw clamp. Length of pedal can be varied by turning the threaded shaft.

Objectives
Enhance stability of standard walkers and reaching ability for seniors within home environment. Avoid walkers from toppling down when weight is applied on it front ways or sideways. Enable standard walkers to become rigid support for the elderly while they are reaching out for objects. Develop a versatile design that is compatible with a range of walkers with varying sizes.
