Introduction
Taking control of your life for some people is a really difficult task. It is our hope that after reading this ebook that we will have provided enough information for you to learn how to balance your life between work and family. Not so long ago it was expected for families to give up everything in order to gain financial security for the family. People became career oriented and worked hard to climb the corporate ladder. Yet the spouse and children would stay home but they often didnt see the dad because he was away working most of the time. For the people who wanted to climb the corporate ladder had to be willing to do whatever it took to get there and that did mean from time to time they had to up root the family and move to a new location. Sometimes it meant the family had to move around the globe to another new country. This was all part of the game to climb what is called the corporate ladder. Sadly as years went on the divorce rate started to climb, as fathers lost touch with their families. It was found that fathers started to suffer heart attacks, strokes at a huge alarming rate. Then sadly when men retired, there was yet another challenge as now they felt useless and unproductive and felt there was no meaning to life anymore. The saddest part of all is the very idea to fell unwanted or useless when in fact all of these men had families who cared about them, but because they did not understand how to have a balance of work and family they lost their way.t
Then as the years went on, women started to enter the workforce making the rate race even crazier. Now the challenge both parents are out of the home working and making it even more stress and becoming more of a rat race rather than better. If you think it is better look at all the stress related deaths and illness, strokes have been on the increase for years already. Also notice the divorce rates are skyrocketing not only at home but around the world. More and more children are finding themselves to be raised by single parents. Now the big question, is that a good balance for a child? Dont children need both parents to have a sense of balance? For some of the traditional and responsible children who will care for their parents once they are old and aging also puts even more stress on their shoulders. Often times today children tend to drop the parents off in an aging home or seniors lodge thinking they would be happier there. But would they really be happier there or would they be happier near their family? Today we live in a world of convenience which was designed to give us more leisure time. But if you look around you, ipad, iphone, computers, etc. seems not like information overload but also seems it has given us even more work. As now people can contact you in so many ways. There are men and women all over the world working sixty to ninety hours per week on the average and yet they feel they have a life. This is not a life as you will soon learn in this ebook.

Maybe by now you are starting to understand the main question, is it really worth to have a career at the expense of your family and social life. At the end of the day you will find out that life is way too short to let that happen. You will see it is a very expensive trade off. Is one of these you? Do you have stress related health problems, or maybe you are not eating right, or you are having a problem with your spouse, boyfriend / girlfriend or a best friend all because you spend so little time with them? Maybe you dont have time to return phone calls or send that special birthday card to a cousin, aunty, uncle, brother, sister, mom or dad or a friend. It really doesnt matter what kind of work you do, at the end they are all excuses. You and your family deserve much better than that. Yes you do need to support your family and feed your kids and put them through school. Now it is time to stop fooling yourself and know the real difference between work and family and having fun and truly enjoying your life. Yes this is where you need to learn how to take charge of your life.

Companies are finding that the old system of hiring people and promoting their staff will no longer work on the young people and must change their tactics if they hope to survive in the ever changing world of business. For the young people who had their parents both working outside of the home and having to do as the employer asked or they would be replaced are finding they are now controlling the employer to do as what the staff demand which is spending more time with their families. Most young people entering the workforce today only consider working for someone if there is job flexibility and schedules when they are looking for a job. If a company really wants to keep their employees to stay and keep working for the company, it is found companies need to change their ways of business and hiring of new staff. It is found that these new young workforce people are willing to give it their all while they are at work and they have no problem to work hard in exchange for a life. They want to be able to spend time with their family and friends and have less stress in the process. The very idea of having a balanced life between work and family is huge deal. So huge in fact that some companies have recognized it and have taken steps to lead in establishing a balance program in their company. There are also a number of organizations, foundations, universities and groups doing major research on this very topic and the effect for both companies and workers. Some of the organizations who are spending time and money into the research are religious groups, government agencies, human resource companies, behavioral scientists are all studying this very topic as there are huge advantage for companies to recognize the life balance and to create a work environment to help their employees to live a more full life.

Companies are finding they spend a lot of money training employees and by working with what their needs are will create happy and loyal employees and they tend to stay longer and contribute much more to the company longer. Many people who have entered the workforce in the past have lost community connections and their roots due to over working so much. So many want more balance in their life and some wonder if it is all that important to begin with.

For people who live an unbalanced life where work is the dominate factor, it will affect a persons health in many ways. People who work long and stressful hours will develop over time a heart problem, blood pressure and poor sleep cycles.
