Abstract
Flexible zone is an innovation that targets to the experimenting in
the field of new teaching approaches. Having this in mind we suggest
an action plan aiming at the use of a text describing a mathematical
problem in the most beneficial way. The targets of the action plan are
the following:
a) Guidance to the logical-critical thought of students
b) Familiarization with the language with the help of the language
elements being used in the mathematical problem.
That is to say, the students can learn how to learn by making use of
what they already know.
Given that the population of students attending Greek schools
nowadays belongs to different ethnic groups this project wound be of

great benefit to foreign students who usually don t lack mathematical


thinking but rather communication skills.
