PTO Meeting Minutes - April 17, 2012

1. Introductions-Melissa Ribordy, Elizabeth Prentiss, Blair Norman, Julie Frieder, Kris Brown, John DeRose 2. Principal's Report A. Earth day summary B. Class lists are underway for 2012-2013 C. Melissa planning visit to 5th grade at Cal Wood D. No district changes with the start and end times E. Haven't received the teacher allocation numbers yet- next week 3. PTO events update A. Family Game Night was very successful a. Over 100 students attended B. Earth Week a. Bike to school day - meeting at North Boulder Park 1. 7:55 meeting at the North Boulder Park for the group ride 2. Yogurt and wafes samples provided by Twirl - parent help starting at 7:45 am 3. Crossing guard at 4th and Linden for walking to school 4. Iris and Broadway crossing guard may not happen this year 5. Banner for kids to sign 6. Have the teachers take tallies for the participation on bike to school day 7. PA for the kids about bike to school day C. Spring Used Book Fair - April 30 through May 4 D. Volunteer appreciation day - May 11 a. Need to gure out some marketing for the event E. Spring Dance - May 11 a. Need volunteers for the event 1. Will be some minor changes - volume, fog machine, dj 2. Need marketing and awareness 3. 6:30 - 8:30 PM F. Last Day of School Picnic a. Marketing needed b. Very low key event G. Teacher appreciation week - May 7 - 11 a. Ideal market catering lunch for the teachers from 11:00 - 12:45 b. Rocky mountain massage school for free chair massages c. Daily gesture teacher thank you from the students advertised in an email

4. Fox Tracks update A. Software developers want parents to complete a usability test on the software B. Possibility to move the pole and include the bus riders C. Year end assembly and nal wristbands for students 5. SKIP option for getting students to school- perhaps a foothills chaperone 6. K kids fundraiser in the past has been a car wash, thinking of changing it to a bike wash rodeo after school A. Could be a fall event 7. SAC Update A. Very productive year a. Math acceleration and school enrollment as examples of topics B. Want to continue the SAC/PTO liaison person and a close working relationship C. Looking for fall SAC volunteers D. Teachers have been very involved and the administration 8. Book publishing update A. Starts tomorrow B. Each class needs 6 volunteers 9. Yearbook update A. April 28 we will have the shipment B. 405 yearbooks were ordered C. Will be passed out the week before school gets out
