Our generation stands at a crossroads. To the right is fascism. To the left is nihilism. We choose neither. We are idealists devoted to rationalism. We employ satire, visual humor, and cultural criticism We are the water tower.

In January 2007, the UVM Student Government Association approved the formation of a second weekly student publication to compliment the traditional campus paper, The Cynic. The mission of the water tower is to provide the UVM on and off-campus communities with a source of weekly entertainment and information on topics ranging from national news, campus trends, social satire, and student fashion.
the water tower is more than just a collection of writers. Students from a broad array of aca-

demic disciplines work closely to make our paper tick. Our diverse staff spans from freshmen to seniors, representing a variety of majors including English, Political Science, History, Religion, Art, and Computer Science. Since our first issue in February 2007, the water tower has steadily grown into a campus hit and a staple of UVM life. Our current circulation of 1,500 copies a week disappears after only a few days on the stands. Funny, concise, and critical, the water tower is a perfect match for the UVM and Burlington community.
