CLASSIFICATION: Calcium channel blocker

Inhibit the movement of calcium ions across a cell membrane, which results in fewer dysrhythmias, a slower rate of contraction of the heart and relaxation of smooth muscle of blood vessels resulting in vasodilation and reduced blood pressure.
