India is soon becoming the Diabetes capital of the world. Both the public and private health care organizations are gearing up to support this large population of diabetes patients in our country. This paper explains how individuals can effectively manage diabetes using control charts. The author introduces a three step methodology to set up the control chart. The author shares his personal experience in recognizing, understanding glucose level variation, identifying special cause of variation, taking necessary action to control them effectively. A Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS) control chart maintained by patient will also help the diabetologist to advice him the perfect level of medication.
