3) - Have you ever taken the name of God in vain?

If I use the name of God as a curse word, you will call me a blasphemer. So if you have ever taken the name of God in vain, that makes you a blasphemer. We looked at three of the Ten Commandments that are in the book of Exodus chapter 20. I am quite sure that you have answered yes to at least one of the questions and we can see in the book of James: James 2:10 For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. I hope that you acknowledge your faults and that you will plead guilty before God because he knows your heart and you can not mislead him.

In addition, sin leads to physical and spiritual death. For the physical death, a visit to the cemetery allows us to easily verify this fact. In the case of spiritual death, we must trust what the Bible says on the subject. Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Ephesians 2:1 And you has he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

The rescue
Since we cannot do anything by ourselves to enter Heaven, God sent us a Saviour to fulfill what was impossible to man. Jesus Christ has paid our debt to God completely. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Romans 5:8 But God commends his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

This leaflet takes for granted that you believe

that the Bible is true and that you sincerely want to understand the message it contains. In the opposite case, other leaflets are available to answer your questions concerning the veracity and reliability of the Bible. Please adopt the following state of mind so that this text makes sense for you: - Listen to your conscience when it speaks to you about good and evil. - Be as a child wanting to learn and believe what the Bible says. - Be prepared to accept that God can draw you to himself and that his Holy Spirit can convince you concerning sin, justice and judgment. - Check if the content of this leaflet corresponds to what the Bible teaches in his whole. Are you a good person? Here are some questions which will appeal to your conscience. 1) - Have you ever lied? Even just a small lie. If I tell you a lie, you will call me a liar. So if you ever lied, that makes you are a liar. 2) - Have you ever stolen? Regardless of the value of the object. If I steal an object, you will call me a thief. So if you ever have stolen, that makes you a thief.

Man is evil
The Bible tells us that human heart is fundamentally bad. Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

Repentance
One must recognize his faults and ask forgiveness to God. One must also want to change his life completely. Acts 3:19 Repent you therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord. Acts 17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commands all men every where to repent:

The problem of sin

Sin separates us from God and none of our works can compensate for our sins. Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Faith
We must believe what God is telling us. But that is believing? When one believes someone 100% and when one knows this person is giving the best instructions, one should obey 100%. It is only logic. John 5:24 Truly, truly, I say to you, He that hears my word, and believes on him that sent me, has everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death to life. Matthew 7:21 Not every one that said to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 28:19-20 Go you therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatever I have commanded you: and, see, I am with you always, even to the end of the world. Amen. The restoration of all things Jesus Christ will come back and restore all things by bringing about his justice for eternity. Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. 2 Thessalonians 1:6-9 Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

What should we do concretely?

We could summarize it in two words: Believe and obey. As when we scratch a match and it ignites: we see light appear and heat comes from the flame. It all happens instantly. The whole fire, light and heat are inseparable. It is the same for salvation; it includes a predisposition to make the works God has prepared for us. Repentance, faith and works are as many signs that God has transformed our heart. At the end of the world, God promises to give those who have believed; a new body and a better life which will not end. Our present life must reflect the one which we have been promised. Here are some concrete steps which can make a big difference in your life: 1- Read the Bible every day. 2- Talk with other Christians. 3- Attend a church which considers that the Bible is the only truth and that it is inspired by God. 4- Listen to the Holy Spirit who is communicating the will of God contained the Bible. 5- Pray God to receive wisdom and intelligence in order understand what you read and to implement it daily.

Thankfulness
How can we say thanks to our Saviour? Give him glory and offer him our lives by living in a manner worthy of our Lord. Romans 11:36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen. Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

Plan B
Is there another way to be saved? The Bible says no. It is one of the reasons why Christians are so disliked in the world. The Bible is unequivocal when it says that salvation is exclusively reserved for God's elect; that is those who believe in Jesus-Christ who died, was buried and resurrected from the dead. John 14:6 Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by me. Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Sharing
Meet other Christians who share the same faith so that you may rejoice and progress together in the narrow path of the Christian life. John 13:35 By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if you have love one to another. Try to bring other people to know Jesus-Christ so he may save them like you.
