PROJECT- IMPROVE PRODUCTIVITY AND EFFICIENCY BY LINE BALANCING

Existing method- Problems

Target setting and the way the balancing has done Cycle time is less than time taken in work stations Balancing has done by considering labour only not time Balancing has done by considering efficiency at 65% No proper process flow chart No calculation of cycle time, minimum no of workstations, line efficiency ,percentage of idle time

PROCESS FLOW FOR LINE BALANCING

First step is to calculate cycle time, minimum no of

workstations.

Then is to prepare process flow chart of each operation by considering immediate follower.

Then assign operations to each workstation by

considering time, machine type and the follower operations.

Finally calculate idle time percentage and line efficiency.
