SKILLS
An ability and capacity acquired through deliberate, systematic, and sustained effort to smoothly and adaptively carryout complex activities or job functions involving ideas (cognitive skills), things (technical skills), and/or people (interpersonal skills).

DELEGATION
The distribution of responsibility and authority to others while holding them accountable for their performance.

ADVANTAGES
Division of workload allows Directors and Managers to spend valuable time on strategy, business planning and business critical issues. It often highlights those talented employees who are capable of more and would like to progress their careers. Getting the best from your team is a direct reflection of a Managers ability to delegate. Knowing what you are delegating, choosing the right person, communicating the overview and the detail in full is important.

Consequences of poor delegating

Information and decision-making not shared by the group. Leaders become tired out. When leaders leave groups, no one has experience to carry on. Group morale becomes low and people become frustrated and feel powerless. The skills and knowledge of the group/organization are concentrated in a few people. New members dont find any ways to contribute to the work of the group.

Conclusion
Successful Managers possess good delegation skills, as taking advantage of employees. Finally, recognising and rewarding all efforts summarising how it went and potentially how it could be improved next time form the basis of the art of good delegation skills.
