Experience
Global Renewable Energy Education Network (GREEN) Costa Rica, Summer 2011 Mastered background knowledge of renewable energy through visiting four types of power plants, which produce electricity from renewable sources. (Geothermal, wind, hydroelectric, and biomass) Constructed a rainwater collection system for the local community, and worked with two partners to figure out ways to add renewable elements (e.g. a biogas digester) in barns. Enrolled in EM SC 297G to create multimedia projects, such as posters, slides, and a promotion video, highlighting the experience in Costa Rica through GREEN. Penn State Society of Environmental Systems Engineers (SESE) Treasurer, Fall 2010 Spring 2011 Secretary, Fall 2011 Spring 2012 Compiled a roster of all SESE members and took attendance at all meetings of SESE. Gathered information regarding career fair, certifications, scholarships, and posted online. Managed to keep adequate records of all expenditures, receipts, and all financial affairs of SESE. PNC Leadership Assessment Participated in five hours of stimulated individual and collaborative work activities, which are all part of a single, integrated business simulation. Enhanced leadership skills through an individualized development plan based on the feedback from assessors consisting of alumni and local business leaders.

Activities

Wrote a review paper of proppants used in hydraulic fracturing for an honor class in Spring 2011. Two Honorable Mentions in the Department of EME Photo Contest, Fall 2009 & Fall 2010. Interests: squash, skiing, backpacking, music, basketball, soccer, movies, etc. Skills: Proficiency in Chinese.
