Part A 1. Coyotes will mate with any animal inside the Canis genus including domestic dogs (Canis familiaris) and any type of wolf, such as the grey wolf (Canis lupus). 2. Coyotes will eat beetles, bird eggs, garbage, pocket gophers, raspberries, pigs, wild plums, porcupines, apples, flying squirrels, watermelons, voles, rabbits, and deer. 3. Coyotes live in the major city of Chicago (estimated to be over 2,000). The article also mentions New York City and Los Angeles. 4. The most likely condition in which a human will get hurt by a coyote is if it is being fed by humans. 5. A coyote will cooperate with a badger to catch animals such as squirrels in which the badger will weed the squirrel out of its tunnels and the coyote will catch the prey above ground (or vice versa).

Part B Coyotes have been popularized in our culture by individuals such as Mark Twain and Chuck Jones, but there is much to be studied and learned. Observing and catching coyotes is even difficult for the scientists studying them, and up until 2010 it was not realized that Eastern US coyotes are actually coyote-wolf hybrids. All species within the genus Canis can mate with one another. Coyotes can even cooperate with badgers to catch prey. Their food tastes include bird eggs, raspberries, pigs, apples, squirrels, porcupines, and even garbage. This allows coyotes to live in urban areas such as Chicago, but arent a threat unless humans feed the animal. Millions of tax dollars have been used to prevent livestock loss, but the intelligent animal cannot be eliminated.
